Twinkling lights among the branches of a friendly tree are the
centerpiece for the picture books. Here, children ages 6 and under can
sit on a bench surrounding the tree or search for that "perfect book" or
play games on one of seven computers. Beginning readers can also find
many new and interesting books written specifically for their level.
Preschool teachers will find a treasure trove of information in our
picture nonfiction area. The parenting area is in its own section
complete with a rocking chair for parent and baby. |
Children ages 7-11 have their own computer area where they can do
research, type homework, or play games on one of the
computers. We have an extensive collection of juvenile fiction—children
can find all their favorites plus the latest publications. They can
check out books for fun or school projects and read their favorite book
in the carpeted, claw foot bathtub (a favorite of children and
parents!). We also have books on tape –especially good for trips!
Children can extend their research in the juvenile nonfiction section
and in our educational videos and DVDs. Or they may choose a movie or
DVD for entertainment.

| The story time room is entered through the hobbit-sized door
in the tree. Children will enjoy music, stories, puppets, flannel board
stories, books, and crafts. Our summer story times are Tuesday and
Thursday mornings at 10:30 AM.
