Free income tax preparation for taxpayers with middle and low income is being offered by AARP at the Lincoln Parish Library, beginning February 1, 2012. Special attention will be given to those ages 60 and above. All returns will be e-filed. Appointments will be made through the Council on Aging at 255-5070.
The following items are needed at the appointment:
• A form of identification
• Copy of last year’s tax return
• W-2 forms, all 1099 forms
• SSA-1099 Social Security benefits
• Annuity benefits
• Documentation showing original price of sold assets
• Estimated tax paid
• Unemployment compensation statements
• Invoice for homeowner’s insurance
• Property tax statement
• Documentation for itemized deductions
